ROM - OPENING OF MICHEAL LEE CHIN CRYSTAL

The original job description was to design and create a large sculpture that could be assembled on the day, in front of an audience, using crystal shards they were given as a souvenirs of the event. We came up with a 20ft tall crystalline DNA structure as the an opening for the Micheal Lee Chin wing of the museum. We suggested that they should also have several iconic characters and creatures from the various aspects of the museum. Through an animated digital pitch video we received a go ahead for the creation of  6 additional characters from history, with crystals in their face make up to tie them together. They included a 6 ft preying mantis on spring loaded velocity stilts, two 10 ft tall walking Anubis  statues, and what is a museum without a 26 ft long walking T-Rex Skeleton.
