Beaver  -  Various Projects

​One of our earliest realistic animal replica puppets, this iconic Canadian beaver made a memorable debut by lunging straight at an unruly bar patron's throat.

Hand-puppeteered with cable-controlled facial expressions and tail movement, the beaver’s lifelike performance proved so effective it went on to star in two additional commercials, the Sundance-selected short film Waiting for the Man, and the cult feature Phil the Alien. In Phil, the beaver played the loudmouthed sidekick to the alien lead—portrayed by yours truly (though my voice was later dubbed over by Joe Flaherty… all in the name of poster appeal).
